I. School Overview

Founded in 1995 and located in the culturally rich and picturesque Duanzhou, Zhaoqing Science and Technology Secondary Vocational School is a provincial key secondary vocational school integrating both further education and skill training. The school is committed to building a modern secondary vocational school with distinctive features, first-class quality, social recognition and students' aspiration. The school has a beautiful environment, convenient transportation, surrounded by numerous colleges. At the same time, the school has the advantages of group education, and it belongs to China Kepei Education Group Limited with Guangdong Technology College, Harbin Institute of Petroleum, Huaibei Institute of Technology, Ma'anshan University.79378According to the market demand and the industry development trend, the school has set up 18 specialized majors, covering finance and business, intelligent manufacturing, transportation, art and other fields. Each major features a scientifically designed curriculum that balances theoretical knowledge with practical application, fostering students' professional skills and comprehensive competencies. In addition, the campus has modern teaching buildings, libraries, training center and sports field, equipped with advanced teaching equipment and instruments. In recent years, the school has achieved particularly outstanding results in Guangdong Province’s “3+ Certificate” examination (college entrance examination for vocational students), ranking among the top in the province for both undergraduate admission rates and college acceptances. Notably, students from the school have secured perfect scores (150/150) in mathematics for two consecutive years.

At present, the school is actively promoting the pilot construction of comprehensive high school, adhering to the development strategy of prioritizing both quality employment and academic advancement. II. History and Development

l The school was founded in July 1995 and was originally named Zhaoqing Science and Technology Training School. In July 1997, the school expanded its scale and was divided into two campuses: one inside the Zhaoqing Sports Center and the other on West Zhanqian Road.

l In April 2000, it obtained the qualification to run vocational high schools and secondary vocational education, and was renamed Zhaoqing Science and Technology School, with its campus located at Jidong Road.

l In June 2005, it was renamed Zhaoqing Science and Technology Secondary Vocational School.

l In February 2010, it passed the assessment of key secondary vocational schools in Guangdong Province and became a provincial key secondary vocational school.

l In April 2025, it was approved by the Zhaoqing Education Bureau to become the first pilot comprehensive high school in Zhaoqing.

III. School Emblem and Motto

(1) School Emblem

The outer ring of the emblem features the Chinese and English names of the school, “肇庆市科技中等职业学校 ZHAOQINGS&TSCHOOL”. The Chinese name highlights the school's local identity and educational mission, indicating that the school is rooted in Zhaoqing and is committed to cultivating talents for the local community and the wider region, while the English name reflects the school’s openness and international vision, symbolizing its commitment to international exchange and modern education.

At the center is an image of an open book held aloft by a pair of hands. The book symbolizes knowledge and wisdom, which is the ladder of human civilization and represents the school's respect and pursuit of knowledge. The hands symbolize the school's love, care and nurturing of the students.

Purple is a noble, mysterious and creative color. It represents the school's cultivation of students' innovative spirit and practical ability, and encourages students to explore boldly and make breakthroughs in the field of science and technology.

The whole school emblem design is simple and meaningful. The perfect integration of knowledge, cultivation, innovation and other elements reflects the school's “knowledge-based, nurturing-oriented, innovation as the soul”, the purpose of running the school. It inspires all teachers and students to forge ahead and create a better future in the pursuit of knowledge and skills.

V. Principal’s Address

Dear colleagues and friends from all,

Under the correct leadership of the Party and government, our school always follows the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, thoroughly implements the New Vocational Education Law, closely focuses on the core objective of “cultivating high-quality laborers and technically skilled talents”, continuously deepens the reform of education and teaching, promotes the integration of industry and education and cooperation between schools and enterprises, and strives to build a modern vocational education system.

Since the founding of the school in 1995, our school has always adhered to the school philosophy of “fostering virtue through education, skills for the country”, from an ordinary vocational school to grow into a provincial key vocational school in Guangdong Province.

In recent years, our school has actively responded to the call of the national vocational education reform, and has taken the lead in exploring the nurturing pattern of “giving equal importance to employment and further education”. For three consecutive years, the number of students from our school who have reached the undergraduate admission line and the number of students admitted to universities have both ranked among the top in Guangdong Province.

Every year, nearly 600 students are admitted to well-known public universities. For two consecutive years, we have cultivated students to score 150 points (150/150) in the mathematics subject of Guangdong Province. In 2025, students from our school achieved a historic breakthrough in the "3+ Certificate" vocational education college entrance examination in Guangdong Province. The rate of students being admitted to junior colleges exceeded 90%, and 158 students were reached the undergraduate admission line. This achievement not only ranks among the top of secondary vocational schools in Guangdong Province, but also highlights the remarkable results of our school in the integrated cultivation of cultural courses and vocational skills.

As we approach the final year for the 14th Five-Year Plan, our school will focus on three key directions.

First, establishing a benchmark for vocational education in the Greater Bay Area. Leveraging the industrial advantages of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, our school has added cutting-edge majors such as artificial intelligence and digital media, and will further develop high-level specialized industry-education integration training bases.

Second, striving to achieve the goal of “Double High” construction. On the one hand, take the creation of provincial-level and high-level vocational schools as the starting point to promote the full coverage of “Double Precision” majors, on the other hand, take the creation of provincial-level and high-level comprehensive high schools as the goal to help more students realize their dreams of attending university.

Third, deepening the reform of the education pattern. Our school will implement the Outline of the Plan for Building an Leading Country in Education and construct a three-dimensional training system combining ideological and political education, vocational skills, and innovation and entrepreneurship, so as to provide more talents for a skilled society.

Vocational education is inclusive education that enables everyone to shine, and it is the bedrock of China's manufacturing industry. VI. Teaching and employment

(1) Focusing on Students and Building Diverse Pathways for Further Education

Based on the sustainable development of students, we have constructed a trinity system of “Foundation Compacting-Certificate Strengthening-Diversified Export”, which has been very effective.

In terms of teaching mode, we implement stratified teaching of core subjects of Chinese, mathematics and English, and customize the program of further studies for students one by one. At the same time, for the “3 + certificate” vocational education college entrance examination characteristics, while strengthening the foundation of cultural courses, we also intensify the vocational skills level certificate training and set up the “undergraduate professional intensive class” for students to personalized sprint tutoring.

In terms of the pathways for further education, we have launched distinctive models such as the comprehensive high school class, the “3+ Certificate” spring college entrance Examination class, and the 3+ 2 integrated secondary and higher vocational education class, creating diversified pathways for further education and providing a broader range of choices for students with dreams of attending university.

(2) Integrating Industry and Education to Promote High-quality Employment

We have deepened the integration of industry and education, vigorously promoted practical models such as work-study combination, project-based teaching, and order classes, and precisely aligned its courses with industry standards. Among them, the Mechanical and Electrical Technology Application major of our school has successfully passed the acceptance of the “Double Precision Demonstration Major” in Guangdong Province. At present, we have jointly established over ten order classes with four leading enterprises such as Fenghua. We have jointly established training bases with over 70 well-known enterprises, achieving mutual employment of teachers between schools and enterprises, jointly researching training programs and courses, strengthening the connection with the cutting-edge technologies, and truly practicing the teaching concept of “learning by doing and doing while learning”.

In 2024, the employment rate of school graduates reached 97%, the professional matching rate reached 53%, and the students' solid professional skills, outstanding practical ability and high professionalism were highly praised by employers.

VIII. Plan and Strategy

(1) Overall Planning

Establishing a model of comprehensive high school education integrating vocational and general education and promotes diverse pathways to success. Providing students with a

dual-track development path that offers the foundation for further education and the skills needed for employment, and becoming a benchmark for vocational and general education integration in the region.

(2) Strategy

l Short-term (1–2 years): Complete student transfer mechanisms, curriculum redesign, and faculty integration; ensure successful running of the first batch of comprehensive high school classes.

Mid-term (3–5 years): Establish a stable stream model, significantly improve admission rates and employment quality.

l Long-term (5+ years): Build a “comprehensive high school + vocational undergraduate” integrated system, positioning the school as a regional vocational education hub

IX. Achievements and Future Development

(1) Achievements

First, we have achieved remarkable results in education. In 2024, in the Guangdong Province Secondary Vocational School “Skill Development, Strengthening the Country” Civilized Style Activity, our school won one first prize, five second prizes, and 13 third prizes at the provincial level. Among them, Teacher Lu Yongsi was named “Guangdong Province Outstanding Mentor.”

Second, the school has achieved remarkable results in education and teaching. In 2024, the school organized teachers and students to participate in provincial and municipal-level student professional skill competitions, winning a total of 1 provincial first prize, 4 municipal first prizes, 9 second prizes, and 8 third prizes. Among these, our school won 2 silver awards in the Guangdong Provincial Branch Competition of the 2024 China International College Students Innovation Competition, becoming the only school in Zhaoqing City to receive an award in this category. Additionally, Qiu Zhenyu, a student from 7our school, under the guidance of Teacher Liang Shuting, won the first prize in the “Arts Modeling” category of the Guangdong Province Student Skills Competition, marking our school's first-ever first prize in this category at the provincial level.

Third, the “3+Certificate” vocational education college entrance exam results have once again achieved outstanding results. In 2024, the school organized students to take the “3+Certificate” exam, with a total of 146 students reaching the undergraduate admission line and 2,163 students reaching the junior colleges admission line. The pass rate exceeded 92%, with nearly 500 students admitted to public universities. Among them, our school's top scorer achieved 403 points, ranking 45th province-wide, and one student received a perfect score of 150 in mathematics at the provincial level.

(2) Future Directions

In the future, the school will keep pace with the Party and the times, take the lead, and further deepen reforms in its educational direction.

First, focusing on strengthening professional content development. Implement adjustments to existing majors, optimize and adjust the major structure, steadily promote the development of distinctive majors, and strengthen the evaluation of teaching achievements by professional course instructors.

Second, improving the quality of education and teaching. Next, the school will build a team of renowned teachers in Chinese, mathematics, and English, with provincial and municipal-level teaching experts at its core, to form a school-specific exam preparation strategy, with the aim of increasing the number of students who pass the college entrance exam and are admitted to undergraduate programs, thereby improving the school's college admission quality and educational brand.

Third, actively promoting the pilot construction of comprehensive high school. In the future, we will continue to provide a satisfactory education with high-quality education resources, characteristic majors setting, advanced teaching facilities, rich campus culture and excellent educational results to deliver a high-quality education that meets the people’s expectations.
