On April 25, 2024, the inauguration ceremony of the Huawei Information and Communication Technology Academy at Guangdong Technology College, a member institution of China KEPEI Education Group, was grandly held in the Academic Lecture Hall 101, Building 42, Gaoyao Campus of Guangdong Technology College. The establishment of the Huawei Information and Communication Technology Academy at Guangdong Technology College marks a significant breakthrough for institutions under China KEPEI Education Group in cultivating outstanding application-oriented talents in the field of information and communication technology.
Distinguished attendees included Mr. Xie Xianqun, Executive Deputy Secretary of the Zhaoqing Education Working Committee and Director of the Zhaoqing Education Bureau; Mr. Gu Yunbo, President of Government Enterprise Business for Huawei Optical Product Line, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd.; Mr. Ye Nianqiao, Board Chairman of China KEPEI Education Group and Chairman of Guangdong Technology College; Mr. Dai Yi, Chairman of Shenzhen Xunfang Technology Co., Ltd.; Mr. Li Zixu, General Manager of Huawei Guangdong Government Enterprise Business in Foshan, Zhaoqing, and Yunfu; Ms. Li Yan, Executive Vice President of China KEPEI Education Group; Mr. Chen Liang, General Manager of the Guangzhou Region, South China Area, Shenzhen Xunfang Technology Co., Ltd.; Ms. Sun Lixia, Senior Vice President of China KEPEI Education Group; President Zhang Xiangwei of Guangdong Technology College; Vice President Liu Xiangping; and President Assistants Shu Cheng and Liang Weixiong, among others. The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Vice President Liu Xiangping.
The Huawei Information and Communication Technology Academy is jointly established by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., Guangdong Technology College, and Shenzhen Xunfang Technology Co., Ltd. Guangdong Technology College will utilize its School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering as the platform, adopting a cooperation mechanism characterized by "joint talent cultivation, shared process management, shared achievements, and shared responsibilities." This initiative promotes "collaborative teaching, collaborative education, collaborative employment, and collaborative innovation," fostering the cultivation of application-oriented technical talents and further constructing a cooperative education model encompassing "industry, education, research, innovation, and service."
In his address, President Zhang Xiangwei of Guangdong Technology College introduced the institution's talent cultivation philosophy and achievements, as well as the aspirations for deepening the integration of industry and education, enhancing university-enterprise cooperation, jointly building industry colleges, and collaboratively cultivating high-quality innovative talents. He expressed hope that the cooperation between the institution and the enterprises would aim to improve the quality of application-oriented talent cultivation; achieve curriculum co-creation by opening core courses and optimizing the curriculum system, actively promoting the reform of experimental and practical teaching methods; develop a team of "dual-qualified" teachers through joint faculty training; and create industry-university-research cooperation bases and student innovation and entrepreneurship bases through the sharing of resources and opportunities, and the sharing of responsibilities.
Mr. Gu Yunbo, President of Government Enterprise Business for Huawei Optical Product Line, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., stated that the inauguration of the Huawei Information and Communication Technology Academy marks the beginning of a new chapter in the cooperation between Huawei and China KEPEI Education Group. Both parties will engage in deeper collaboration in areas such as smart campus construction and talent cultivation. Huawei will increase investment in the smart campus construction of the institutions under China KEPEI Education Group, leveraging its national experience in smart campus development, and contribute Huawei's strength to the growth of China KEPEI Education Group by utilizing its technological advantages and extensive experience.
Mr. Dai Yi, Chairman of Shenzhen Xunfang Technology Co., Ltd., believed that the collaborative construction of the Huawei Information and Communication Technology Academy by Xunfang, Huawei, and Guangdong Technology College represents a significant milestone in the tripartite cooperation and a crucial step towards driving Guangdong Technology College towards specialized integration of industry and education. The three parties will rely on Huawei's technological and resource advantages, combined with the college's professional characteristics and disciplinary strengths, to jointly build a first-class Information and Communication Technology talent cultivation base. By introducing Huawei's advanced curriculum system, practical platforms, and technical support, they aim to cultivate high-quality Information and Communication Technology talents with innovative capabilities, practical skills, and international perspectives, providing strong talent support for national and local economic and social development.
Mr. Ye Nianqiao, Board Chairman of China KEPEI Education Group and Chairman of Guangdong Technology College, expressed that the establishment of the Huawei Information and Communication Technology Academy is an important measure to deepen the integration of industry and education and promote "mass entrepreneurship and innovation." Based on the advanced technology and concepts of Huawei's supply chain partner Xunfang, it provides students with broader development space and higher-quality industrial resources. He stated that the Group would take this inauguration as an opportunity to continuously deepen comprehensive cooperation with Huawei and Xunfang, jointly exploring new models and methods for talent cultivation.
Mr. Xie Xianqun, Executive Deputy Secretary of the Zhaoqing Education Working Committee and Director of the Zhaoqing Education Bureau, extended warm congratulations on the establishment of the Huawei Information and Communication Technology Academy at Guangdong Technology College. The successful hosting of this inauguration ceremony not only demonstrated the deep cooperation in industry-education integration between Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., China KEPEI Education Group, Guangdong Technology College, and Shenzhen Xunfang Technology Co., Ltd., but also injected new momentum into promoting the development of the national Information and Communication Technology industry.
To implement the guidelines outlined in the State Council's Several Opinions on Deepening the Integration of Industry and Education and the National Implementation Plan for Pilot Projects in the Integration of Industry and Education, the institutions under China KEPEI Education Group are actively exploring reforms in talent cultivation models that integrate industry and education and foster university-enterprise cooperation. Prior to this, Guangdong Technology College had already cooperated with leading industry enterprises such as iFlytek, China High Tech, and Guangdong Jiatuo to jointly establish six industry colleges and undertake 39 Ministry of Education Industry-University Cooperation Collaborative Education Projects. The establishment of the Huawei Information and Communication Technology Academy will further deepen the integration of industry and education at Guangdong Technology College and enhance the effectiveness of talent cultivation.
Following the inauguration ceremony, the attending guests participated in a Huawei Information and Communication Technology industry technical lecture and an industry college seminar. The Director of Harmony Ecosystem Expansion for Huawei Terminal delivered a wonderful lecture on Information and Communication Technology industry trends for the teachers and students. During the seminar, relevant responsible persons from Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., and President Zhang Xiangwei of Guangdong Technology College reported on the preliminary progress of industry-education integration and university-enterprise cooperation for the Huawei Information and Communication Technology Academy, respectively. Chairman Ye Nianqiao, speaking again at the seminar, shared his experiences and philosophy in running educational institutions, emphasizing the importance of investing in the teaching industry and focusing on student cultivation. The seminar concluded amidst lively discussions among the participants.
