Guangdong Technology College is a full-time undergraduate university accredited by the Ministry of Education of China. Located in Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province, the heart of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the College is committed to applied education and to cultivating all-round development, high-quality application-oriented graduates who are innovative, practical capabilities, so as to actively serve the regional economic and social development.

Guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the College fully implements The Communist Party of China’s educational policy and centers its work on moral education. With CPC building as the overarching principle and standardized, connotation-based development as the main line, it upholds the philosophy of “putting students and faculty first, basing everything on quality, stressing application, and serving the local community.” Its core mission is to align closely with the needs of regional economic and social progress, continuously improve the quality of talent cultivation, provide strong intellectual and human-resource support for local development, and promote the College’s undertakings in a high-quality manner.

Distinctive strengths have been formed in intelligent manufacturing, electronic information, big-data applications and modern services.

The College has a well-structured, high-quality and dynamic faculty. Among the 1,755 full-time teachers, over 96 percent hold a master’s degree. Eleven faculty members have been honored as Provincial Teaching Masters or Outstanding Teachers of Guangdong Province. The course of “Intermediate Financial Accounting” and “Management Accounting Course Group” have been recognized as provincial demonstration teams.

Teaching & Learning Facilities

The College offers advanced and comprehensive teaching facilities. The library holds 4.15 million items: 2.4 million print volumes, 1.5 million e-books, 455,000 e-journals and 6.84 million electronic theses & dissertations. The total value of teaching and scientific equipment exceeds RMB 210 million.

In addition, the Guangdong Provincial Engineering Technology Research Center for Machine Vision & Intelligent Detection is located on campus. Off-campus, the College has built 659 practice bases in partnership with well-known enterprises.

Sports & Recreation

Outdoor facilities include a standard football pitch, tennis courts, badminton courts, a skate park, a baseball field (venue of the 15th Guangdong Provincial Games) and a full-size athletics track. Indoor venues comprise a basketball arena (host site of the Guangdong Provincial University Basketball Championships), badminton hall, swimming pool and a modern fitness center. Swimming, taekwondo, badminton and rope-skipping are the College’s traditional powerhouses, having won numerous national champions.

Student Accommodation & Transport

All student apartments are equipped with private bathroom, shower, air-conditioning, hot-water system and filtered drinking-water dispensers, providing a comfortable living and studying environment. Battery-powered campus buses and shared e-bikes make daily travel quick and convenient. A high-speed network with 10 Gbps backbone and 1 Gbps desktop connections covers the entire campus.

More than 80 vibrant clubs cater to each student—Industrial Robotics Association, Model Aircraft Club, Maker Club, Anime Club, Nanfeng Hanfu (Traditional Costume) Society, Chunfeng Literature Society, Street-Dance Association, Guitar Association and many more—helping students showcase talent, build lifelong friendships and grow in confidence.

Guangdong Technology College puts “students first, individuality matters” into practice. Twenty-one micro-programmes have been co-created with industry; three of them—“Harmony OS Full-Stack Development,” “Industrial Software Applications” and “Drone Filming & New-Media Production”—have been selected as national “Excellent Micro-Programme Cases” by the Ministry of Education.
