I. Profile
Huaibei Institute of Technology (HIT) is a full-time undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education of China. Its predecessor, the School of Information under Huaibei Normal University, was established in 2003. In 2021, it was officially transformed into an independent private undergraduate institution.
The Institute has been recognized as a Civilized Unit of Huaibei City and a Water-Saving Campus of Anhui Province. For three consecutive years, it has received an "Excellent" rating in the annual inspection of private higher education institutions in Anhui Province.
The campus covers an area of approximately 66.9 hectares and features a beautiful environment with complete facilities. It boasts over 400,000 square meters of buildings, including teaching buildings, laboratories, a library, an arts building, a gymnasium, and more, all equipped with advanced teaching experimental equipment and comfortable living facilities. Currently, the university has over 12,000 students. All student dormitories are 4-person rooms equipped with air conditioning and private bathrooms, providing an excellent learning and living environment.
II. Educational Features
Motto: Explore Truth, Practice Rigorously, Master Skills, Act with Determination
The motto carries profound cultural significance: "Explore Truth" emphasizes the pursuit of knowledge; "Practice Rigorously" focuses on the integration of knowledge and action; "Master Skills" strives for technical excellence; "Act with Determination" underscores pragmatic responsibility. These eight characters perfectly illustrate the university's educational philosophy of cultivating high-quality application-oriented talents.
Adhering to the positioning of being "local, application-oriented, and open," the university closely aligns with Anhui Province's Ten Emerging Industries and Huaibei City's "Five Clusters and Ten Chains" industrial layout. It has established a disciplinary system primarily focused on engineering, with coordinated development in economics, management, liberal arts, science, and education. The university currently offers 32 undergraduate programs, including:
Communications Engineering: Provincial-level First-Class Program and "Dual Special" Program.
Electronic Information Engineering, E-Commerce, Applied Chemistry: Provincial-level Characteristic Programs.
Artificial Intelligence, Digital Marketing: Provincial-level Characteristic Programs serving the Ten Emerging Industries.
Human Resource Management, Economics: Provincial-level Reform Pilot Programs.
Logistics Management: Provincial-level First-Class Brand Program.
III. Faculty and Research
The university has 517 full-time teachers, including 118 with senior professional titles. It has established two municipal key laboratories—"Artificial Intelligence and Applications" and "Intelligent Manufacturing Equipment and Technology"—and the "Huaibei Coal Mining High-End Equipment Manufacturing Industry Research Institute." In 2024, the university won one second prize in provincial/ministerial scientific and technological awards and one second prize in provincial teaching achievement awards.
IV. Industry-Education Integration
The university has deepened cooperation with Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., jointly building an ICT innovative talent training base, offering Huawei HarmonyOS Elite Engineer Class and Huawei 5G+ Elite Engineer Class, and establishing the Huawei HarmonyOS Application Development Laboratory, HarmonyOS Intelligent Connection Innovation Laboratory, and 5G+ Industry Application Laboratory. The university serves as the Vice Chair of the National Digital Information Technology Innovation Industry-Education Integration Community.
The university has built over 100 well-equipped experimental and training laboratories, including a VR+ Logistics Integrated Laboratory, E-Commerce Laboratory, Robotics Laboratory, among others. The Metalworking Training Center is a provincial-level demonstration experimental and training center.
V. Educational Outcomes
The university adheres to the "Five Educations" model (moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor education). In the past two years, students have won more than 580 awards in various academic and skill competitions, secured nearly 200 provincial-level innovation and entrepreneurship training projects, and obtained multiple patent grants. The graduate employment rate remains above 95%. In 2025, the inaugural undergraduate class achieved a postgraduate admission rate of 8.2%, with many students admitted to "Double First-Class" universities such as Jilin University and Donghua University.

The university will maintain its "local, application-oriented, and open" positioning, continue to advance the construction of a high-level application-oriented university, deepen educational and teaching reforms, cultivate more high-quality application-oriented talents for regional economic and social development, and compose a new chapter in high-quality development.
